vladimir--
thats just the point...they are being TESTED, while CAP systems are being deployed (USWest, Bell Atlantic, GTE).
you make some good points, but the timframe set up by the ILECs we have indicates CAP deployment, not DMT. in other words, they arent waiting for the DMT silicon. they will be testing DMT systems from WSTL when the silicon becomes ready. its kind of a foot in the door thing...once we are in, we can make a deal on anything. they are willing to wait also because of hopes that the TXN and MOT solutions will be better than any of the other DMT silicon currently available.
very true that others can use the silicon from MOT and TXN, but so far i think we are the only ones who have decided to use the solutions. so, that puts us in a very good position with TXN and MOT. they want to move chips, and that have a vested interest in seeing that we succeed. with that in mind, it should be obvious why i think WSTL is going to do well. TXN will price the chips so competitivly that PAIR, AWRE and others may find it difficult to compete.
thats just my read on the situation. odd though that in the reuters release about CSCO/Netspeed, WSTL was mentioned, not PAIR, ALA, or AWRE.
at this stage of the game, everyone wants to be in bed with everyone else. once i know for sure that AWRE modems are being shipped by CPQ, i will take a big position in the stock. but until then, i am sticking with WSTL as my big position. sure i will miss a small rally, but after it settles back a little, its buying time.
good luck to all, trey |
