Today's News Release. Maybe we will get an early Xmas gift. Bob, thanks again for the info and support. Good luck to everyone.

PRIOR RESOURCES LTD. ("PQL-Y;PORLF-L")

- Mazatlan Property, Discovery Hole

Dalton B. DuPasquler, President of Prior Resources Ltd. announced a discovery hole on the
Company's potential open pit gold deposit located 80 miles northeast of Mazatlan, Mexico.
Hole #7 from surface to 107 feet graded 1.15 grams per ton Gold (containing a five foot section
grading 17.5 grams per ton Gold and 31.6 grams per ton Silver).

The recent drill program on a 500 metre by a 1000 metre Gold geochemical surface anomaly
which was completed on September 28, 1996 consisted of 18 drill holes of between 100 feet
and 200 feet in length for a total drilling length of 2050 feet. The program covered a rectangular
area of 350 metres by 400 metres with eight holes located around an old adit and the balance of
the holes covering the southern and eastern extensions of the anomaly.

All holes intersected the target tuffaceous breccia, which shows varying facies of coarse to fine
fragment size, a green to grey colour, a silicified and quartz grained matrix, significant chlorotic
or propolytic alteration, significant quartz and calcite stockworking and important amounts of
disseminated pyrite. The gold values in the core have been associated with a higher degree of
silicification and more quartz stockworking in the same green grey breccia.

The assay values from the drill core of the first eight holes received to date show trace to
economic amounts of gold and silver in all holes. The highest values were obtained in Hole #7
with 107 feet grading 1.15 grams per ton gold (containing a five foot section grading 17.5 grams
per ton Gold and 31.6 grams per ton Silver).

Results from the holes include:

-Hole #1 assayed at 176 ppb and 211 ppb Gold in two separate five feet intersections;

-Hole #2 assayed at 222 ppb from 105 to 110 feet and then achieved an average of 152 ppb
over 24 feet from 121 to 145 feet;

-Hole #3 showed two intersections at almost a half a gram per ton (running 379 and 384 ppb);

-Hole #4 assayed with one five foot interval over 100 ppb;

-Hole #5 assayed with two five foot intervals over 100 ppb;

-Hole #6 was barren;

-Hole #7 gave the 1.15 grams per ton Gold assays from the collar (surface) to 107 feet; and

-Hole #8 gave 319 ppb at 55 to 80 feet.

The holes show correlatable silver values ranging up to 58 grams per ton. Further study of the
results and the drill core will show whether there is a possibility of economic mineralization and
whether there is a relationship between distinct parts and/or facies of the breccia, structural
features and the gold. A further program will be designed on compilation of the assay values.
