Justa and RIllinois: Though I am flattered by the solicitation to
arbitrate or otherwise adjudicate your ongoing verbal feud, I re-
spectfully decline said invitation. Suffice it to say, this thread,
as veteran poster Justa can attest, is a repository for all manner
of commentary and argument central and tangential to Brinker's
MoneyTalk radio show. Sometimes, the arguments stray from a
purely focused topical disputation to "ad hominem" attacks upon
the arguer himself or the arguers themselves. This technique is
as timeless as the art of debate, eristical or otherwise, and, in
special cases, might be construed as not altogether unjustified or
illegitimate. This may beg the question: are the man and his message
seamless? However, let us leave this question to the scholars of
rhetoric and debate or, better, to the philosophers.

In any case, I humbly offer to the twain of you the following
homespun advice: if your differences are of the intractable var-
iety, i.e., are likely incapable of resolution except by sabers
and seconds, it might prove useful a) to call the matter a draw
and move on to more fertile ground b) to remove the disputation
to an e-mail venue or, failing all, c) to command your seconds
to negotiate site and weaponry for the final contest.
