Hi Herb:
SEBL/SCOP has stated that the strength of the merger is in the future integrated product. They will want to leverage (read: show and ship) that future as soon as possible, as all vendors now realize that the real market is for an integrated product suite that spans all of CIS (SFA, Support, Logistics, etc). And no, they haven't even started with the 'major problems'. And, although there should be more to spend on R&D in the combined companies, a lion's share should go to the integration and upgrade of existing customers. Whether they really spend on this integration or not remains to be seen, but that is what has been promised.
On apples and oranges: no, they need to mix the products together as soon as possible. My kids mixed the apple and orange juice once, and it tasted terrible. But it looked good, and was a real pretty color...
Please note that I work for a competitor (CLFY), so my comments are naturally biased. Analysts seem to be mixed as to how difficult the product integration will really be. But I think all agree that the integration must happen, and they need to show progress quickly.
Good luck. |
