I'm out of touch with what most people think, mainly because I learned
a long time ago that being correct & being in the majority are
rarely the same.

I had no idea people would put Indonesia & China in the same catagory.
Both country's name ends in a vowel, but that is about the only similarity I know of. When Marcos was running the Phillipines, I would say the Phillipines & Indonesia were similar.

We discussed corruption once before here.... it is everywhere. The nice thing about Chin favoring certain companies is they are open about it. One does not have to go digging through mountains of documents to figure it out like you do in the U.S. One of my
few U.S. investments was a preferred stock in a company called Titan.
Paid a nice yield when I bought it.. about 10.5% when others were paying 7.5%. Their balance sheet looked terrible, but I noticed something. Their biggest customer was "the company". (Better known
as the C.I.A.) . They never missed an interest payment. Somehow,
they managed to stay in business. <g>
