Compaq had a buyback program that was interrupted by the Tandem merger. I heard somewhere that they would have been allowed to repurchase shares this summer, but that was before the DEC merger. Compaq needs to buy back some shares...1.5billion is just far too much. Also, the 0.015 dividend is pretty pitiful, and the fact you have to pay extra for their dividend purchasing program isn't all that great either.

Compaq buying back 100million shares would be nice at this point in time.
