Compaq already has a notebook with an AMD chip. I believe it the 233MHZ. I can't remember the model, but it's a black Presario. I just saw one at Best Buy yesterday.

The prices for laptops have really fallen. The same notebook I bought last May for $3000 now costs less than $1500.
