I short uncovered. I don't dismiss calls/puts as useful
hedges, but my trading is very short term and for those
stocks without options, the only hedge strategy I tend
to employ is simply to box my position...especially when
the position looks like it'll move against me, or when I
haven't a clue as to what the market looks like it'll do.
CA is great example. I shorted at 5.50, which turned out
to be much to early in this current bull move. I went long
on CA in another account at 5.45, and actually sold that
long position this afternoon.
