I think CheckFree holdings (CKFR)is presently the ultimate value stock. The only reason it might not belong on this thread is that it's p/e is NA but it's gains should be more than 50% easily.
Here's why: CheckFree is set to process electronic bill payments. You can use the internet to pay bills right. Well CKFR is the one doing it right now. They hold 80% of the market right now but talk about a lot of potential. How many people will pay bills via the net in the future? The real interesting thing is that they have an agreement with a coalition of banks (Integrion it's called) which was signed today. It is a done deal. Banks will offer you the ability to pay bills (and other services) via the net but guess who is behind the scenes doing the processing... CKFR. Also, note that the banks will provide the customer interaction(i.e. advertising). CKFR has been working on a huge processing centre (Genesis) which is capable of handling bill payment from 30% of US homes. This comes on line in the summer.
Integrion is owned by ABN Amro North America, Banc One, Bank of America, Citibank, Comerica, First Chicago NBD, First Union National Bank, Fleet Financial,IBM, KeyCorp, Mellon Bank, Michigan National Bank, NationsBank, Norwest, PNC Bank, Royal Bank of Canada, US Bancorp, Visa USA and Washington Mutual Inc.
The SI thread is awesome for this company and goes into great detail. www3.techstocks.com
It is really hard to figure out when this stock will come through however, it will and it will certainly be big. Excuse the hyping I'm a little excited. Check it out for yourself. Good luck. Dave |
