Wildman,
Although I probably shouldn't say this, THQI is a small-time publisher, not a big-time player. Not yet anyway. EIDSY and ATVI have both become major players, but that is because they are game developers with strong franchises. Until THQI has those (its only/major one just disappeared), THQI will be subject to wild swings.
Look at what is going to happen to THQI. It is a publisher, right? That is a very dangerous position to be in. Look at GTIS. It used to be a premiere publisher. But then it lost id software, and down it went. Don't forget what ERTS just did to THQI. ERTS will not give THQI anymore titles. Look at G.O.D. This group is going to make it hell for publishers who aren't willing to pony up some big bucks.
THQI is still small potatoes. It needs bulk. But without internally developed games, it will just be a fringe player. Up until now, it has been lucky. Doing its thing without anyone really noticing. Don't expect this to continue. Like I said before, success breeds jealousy.
