Science in a nutshell.
Good Science Humanity is really a protein supplement. The vector that was seeded here took quite well and sometime soon the harvesters will be coming. 6,000,000,000 billion people at an average of say 120lbs, (including children) is a huge pile of chops. Count up all the critters we grow to eat and throw them in and you really got a pile of protein. The signals that the harvesters look for are trips to the nearest celestial bodies (Moon, Mars) and satellites transmitting from the outer planets (Voyager). When microwaves exist the crop is nearly ready.
Bad Science Mankind stacks up nicely. We are really the remnant of a once powerful race. The genetic material introduced in the near past by a IFO crash has infected this park planet and the local space ranger authority has decided to remove the vermin infestation, us. Soon the trapping units will arrive. We will all be caught, tranquilized and stacked up in big space ships. We will be taken to areas where we are allowed to live (Several Planets have donated Reservation Space : HeHeaven HaHeaven, Valhalla, Paradise, The Wheel etc...).Once we arrive we will be spray painted yellow and if we return to this park planet we will be destroyed.
Unlikely The mice created Humanity as part of a Grand Organic Computer experiment and the answer is 42 (See the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy for further details)
Whatever you believe it is only relevant in how it allows you to relate to others and to the world around you.
It really doesn't take co-operation from the targets for the bullet to work, disbelief is not an effective weapon when dealing with truth. It is interesting to note that The Holy Roman Catholic Church was taken to task by Copernicus, and though it took awhile, they recently did finally acknowledge that he was right. |
