More company news. Dow Jones Newswires -- March 12, 1998 Metromedia Intl To Buy 50% Stake In Russia Paging Operator EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (Dow Jones)--The radio paging group of Metromedia International Group Inc.'s (MMG) Metromedia International Telecommunications Inc. unit agreed to acquire 50% of Mobile Telecom ZAO, a paging operator in Russia. Financial terms were not disclosed. In a press release Monday, Metromedia International said after the deal closes, Metromedia-affiliated companies will have more than 100,000 subscribers in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. The agreement, which allows the Russian firm's management to remain in place for a period of not less than two years, is subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions.
