All AMEX says in merger talks with Nasdaq NEW YORK, March 12 (Reuters) - The American Stock Exchange confirmed Thursday that it is talking to the National Association of Securities Dealers about a merger. The move could create a bigger challenge to the formidable New York Stock Exchange. Big Board officials declined to comment at this time. One of us had this thought can't recall who - could happen!
