Dwight, Are you familiar with the men who signed the declaration? Many were not practicing christians, others were deists. Christianity leans towards Statism, not freedom, and is based on a feudal social and political structure. The defunct soviet union embodied christian principles much better than any truly free country could ever do, as the soviet system was the perfect christian State if only the figurehead had been God instead of "the Party".
