''We are very excited to place a USBL expansion franchise in a new market. This is obviously a community filled with a rich-sporting tradition and with the management team already in place there is no question in my mind that Washington, D.C. and the USBL will be a perfect fit.''
The USBL, based in Milford, Connecticut will begin play in 1998 on Friday, May 1st. The Washington, D.C. entry will play a 26-game schedule, which will include 13 home games.
