CPQ

I accumulated CPQ at 24.75 on its dip recently, and plan to continue accumulation at any point less than $25 this week. On March 23 CPQ will announce at the InterNEt Commerce Expo a set of electronic commerce software and services that it hopes will make it the leading supplier of ecommerce solutions with 1.5 years. These products will support consumers, retailers, and ecommerce providers such as financial institutions with an integrated package. Additionally, I expect it to leverage its encryption, security, fault tolerance and secure payment expertise (via its Tandem Computer subsidiary) within this announcement. It is my assessment that with the present low price, the market will receive this announcement and direction favorably. If the price and volume numbers dictate, I may raise that accumulation threshold to as much as $28 over the next week. Therefore, regardless of the daily technical analysis, CPQ will remain on the Watch Lists for all of next week, hopefully buying on dips. It will also be one of the prime candidates for inclusion in the Weekly Portfolio this weekend.
