Stitch,
Interesting article in today's WSJ. interactive.wsj.com!WJ03/12++++29!&time=03/12+06:29

Headline--GE Capital Goes Bargain Hunting in Troubled Asia

Gist of article is that GE is taking advantage of Asian recession to bargain hunt like they did in Europe during the last few years.
Question- How will Asians feel about having individual debt ( equity loans, car loans, credit card, etc.) payable to the epitome of Yankee capitalism? Will they care?
Has GE Finance had a noticeable (to the man on the street) presence in the past?
Are lessons learned in Europe transferable to Asia?

Please note, GE is my largest single holding.
