Anyone know current webbroker account balance requirements?

My understanding is that it's currently $2k. Does this mean you get charged a fee if your equity falls below this at any point during the month? Or just at the end of the month? Or is it not enforced accept to open an account? If there is a fee, how much might it be?

I've tried twice to get an answer from my branch, but they refer me to electronic brokerage customer service. Lately, I can't seem to get through their hold que.
