20% margin recommended, wish I'd lived by that would limit losses

Ouch dont mention "losses" and "margin" in the same sentence, it was supposed to result in big gains!!!!!!! (VBG)
I have heard 25% max is safe. A lot depends on the stocks you have too, some dont go down and up with much volatility. But of course we are talking Dell now which does seem volatile. Some of my margin is"safe" in an account that has a mutual fund holding in it. The fund goes up and down very minute amounts. But the Datek one... thats the potential problem. I think once I'm out of margin I'll only use it for very very short term trades. This is too nerve wracking even for a live dangerously type like me. ( Of Course this is a much safer way to "live dangerously" than other things I could be doing!!!!!!!)
Happy trading all!
Go Dell. UP PLEASE!
Best wishes,
Freeus
