May I assume that things are also very well with you?...I hope so.

Robert you asked:
Was the Devil created perfect, or with defects? How could God create Satan perfect, but with defects causing a "lust for power"?

The defects as you say, were not built inHowever a capacity for them was.......what was built in was a freedom to choose right over wrong. The freedom to by-pass any and all defects ....that is perfection in creation.... This freedom of choice is what makes God's creations perfect....anything else would not be perfection, but would instead be,... manipulative design.

In the alternative God could have created a perfectly manipulated machine that could do no wrong......but not because it chose not to...it would do no wrong simply because it was not able to.. it was not programmed not to....And In that case God would never know just who could really cut the mustard.!

He also could have seen to it by manipulative design that we all love and worship Him.....now that would be perfect?....Or would it?....
Consider a robot child....cold and programmed to love and obey us....How would we really know if it loved us?...should we care?...Would we care...

Perfection is the ability to choose between right and wrong and overcome defects.....it is also, loving God and others, and being loved by God and others.... simply by virtue of Choice....We all make choices every day and Thank God we can.......Now that's perfect!

Prov 16:3
3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Have a good evening Robert
Shalom...><>
