You're right : NO ONE will DOMINATE the web. Not Yahoo - Not MS.
However Yahoo is highly valued because it is supposedly #1 (when in reality that is false) and hence institutions are paying a premium for it.
When they realize that the number 1 home page and web site is not Yahoo - they will stop paying that premium.
