To All - It look's as though CEO Schmidt made his mind up prior to Tuesday March 3 for Tolonen's departure as QADI announced a new CFO on this date.

Tuesday March 3, 7:09 am Eastern Time Company Press Release
Allergan Announces Resignation of A.J. "Bert" Moyer....
"...A.J. ''Bert'' Moyer, has resigned to assume the position of executive vice president and chief financial officer of Carpinteria, Calif.-based, QAD, Inc., a world leader in ERP and supply chain software..."

As we know by now that the former CFO for QAD Inc. was Mr. Dennis Raney...who now goes to Novell...as an interim CFO???

It appears that CEO Schmidt was "recruiting" new CFO talent probably as early as February 1998 (WELL BEFORE THE CLASS SUIT!).

I have a hard time with this quote from CEO Schmidt,"... 'I've asked Dennis to step in as interim CFO while we continue to actively recruit a chief operating officer," said Schmidt.

Is it possible that CEO Schmidt suspected the accuracy of the 4Q numbers and set out to recruit a new CFO...or was this part of his master restructuring plan?

Does anybody know if CEO Schmidt has worked with Raney in the past? I am still doing a background search on Raney, but it does appear that he has experience in "...ERP and supply chain software...". Any idea as to what "ERP" stands for?

EKS

P.S. I wonder if Novell will replace Ernst & Young as their auditor?
