COGNICASE - $14M in new contracts

MARCH 12, 1998


MONTREAL, QUEBEC--COGNICASE Inc. announced today that it has been
awarded several new important Year 2000 software compliance
contracts by Bombardier Aerospace, 3M, Purolator, Provigo and
Keystone Mercy Insurance. The total value of these contracts is
approximately Cdn$6,000,000. COGNICASE plans to complete the
majority of the work associated with these projects before the end
of 1998.

COGNICASE and Icotech, its wholly-owned subsidiary, also
announced major software consulting solutions and services
contracts with AAFC (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada), Canadian
National, Canam Manac Group, Department of National Defense of
Canada, Hydro-Quebec, Laurentian Bank, National Bank of Canada and
Videotron for an estimated value of Cdn$8,000,000.

"These contract awards confirm our strategy which consists in
rapidly expanding our customer base and the range of our IT
software solutions and consulting services. We are also pleased
with the fact that several of these contracts were obtained after
prior assignments. Our reputation for delivering projects of the
