RE: ***OT*** Mega-smileys

Zead,

I dunno if it really happened. The guy who sent it
to me from the Big Easy isn't known for exaggeration.
That's all I know. Judging from some of my own
experiences at hotels, I think it's entirely
possible. I once attended a convention at the
Hyatt in downtown Milwaukee, which is one of those
center-atrium affairs, and some poor schmuck had to
go around to all the sand-filled ash trays at the
elevators on each floor, clean out all the butts,
and stamp the Hyatt logo into the sand. This was
always done sometime between 2 a.m. (which is when
our partying started to break up) and 6 a.m. (which
is when the crazies like me got up to jog off the
preceding night's excesses). They didn't pay that
person enough money. It was probably the same person
who put a chocolate on my pillow and folded the corners
of my toilet paper into a point. No wasted human
capital there, no siree.

After that, an avalance of mini-Camays is tame.

Would you do any of this for minimum wage (especially
as minimum wage was defined during President Reagan's
tenure in office, when it was at its lowest point ever
in real dollar terms since its creation in the early
1930s)?

Cheers, Tom (long IOM)

P.S. to Sheila. Thanks. We aim to please.
