I was with Etrade early on, they really purturbed me when they
accepted an order for 1000 shares of a 5.25 stock, the order was
placed with a broker and I paid extra commission for so doing. I
sold another $5. stock and was just replacing it. Two days later
I got a margin call for 2,500 dollars. I emailed with no response
and the next am they called with a threat of a sellout if funds
werent in by noon. After I raised hell enough I got hold of a
manager who said it wasnt their responsibility tell me if a stock
wasnt marginable. I disagreed and said if they cant tell me, who
can and if I am charged more for personal service, I should at
least be informed ahead of time and not wait till time was dear.
I persuaded him to allow me to express a check to avoid a sell out
and and will proceed to move the account. I did over 200 trades
last year. That was a lousy wait to treat a customer....
