Hey! if I'm not mistaken, I think the phrase "the Brazzos" was actually 1st coined by me....and it should not be at all offensive. In the correct circles, it is held as a title of great respect and is a high compliment!!!

regarding the late day push up in prices - seems that ANATEL (the new regulatory body) was giving an open press briefing this afternoon to lay out the rules that will govern competition in the sector post sell-off. I think that the initial press reports miss-interpreted the thrust of the announcement as effectively meaning that TBR would maintain its effective monopoly thru until 2005 - which is NOT the case. Expect to see clarification of the exact announcement in tomorrow's news bulletins. EITHER WAY, the close tonight was great, and for me marks the technical break I've been expecting for the past few days....just wasn't sure which way it would go, that's all. Note also that there is absolutely money flowing in to the brazilian market right now. The 2nd and even 3rd tier stocks are performing very well, and outperforming TBR, creating a very supportive backdrop.

re. January results....my guys are not concerned by the delay, and having spoken to the company just put this down to them being hopelessly behind schedule due to all the preparatory work that is being done for this summer. ( relax, Steve!)
