Gottfried, >I am trying to filter out some of the noise we're getting daily, even though I enjoy all the posts in our little community here.
I believe our AMAT price predictions for '98 and '99 from 25
individuals contain all the fears, hopes and intelligence of
participants. Jacob Snyder had a great idea when he started
this survey.<

We have to remember that fear and greed are two big emotions which impact each of us. Those of us who had the luck to have bought AMAT at $26 5/8 presplit, $13.3125 postsplit received a bonus when AMAT's recent low only retracked to $26+. My premise is that with AMAT we did not see the stock return to the post split price of $13.3125. Lester e. and those long AMAT investors is this the normal occurance. If so, IMO, it sure shows the benefit of investing in AMAT as to the upside downside potential earnings vrs potential risk.

Regards,

Paul V.
