Conference Summary:
This is my opinion of the events that took place. Others may differ depending on how much time they spent at the conference.
About 110 people. Some brokers were there. Noon of them were introduced or said anything.
I gave you hintons opening. The next speaker was Justin Ickonga, the West African Representative. This gentlemen was very hard to understand. The only thing he said clearly was "first come first serve" , ADGI is first".
Next Dr. Aly Guindo: President , PERGUE S.A.R.L. This gentlemen went over the political climate in Mali, saying it was stable. He also mentioned that there was $60 million of potential in Mali alone, with surrounding 4 countrys at another $60 million each for the generic pharm. etc.(10% of that would be nice) This man is working closley with ADGI and is a key to the success there.
The UN Ambassador to Mali also spoke . Moctar Ouane- He talked about Mali, conditions and the need for pharm. products etc. The infant mortality in Mali is very high, with the right pharm. alot of the deaths can be prevented.
Helene Paxton:Integrated diagnostics, Inc.: She is the founder of the company and the supplier for the INDX kits. She spoke of how the Dengue fever is spread(masquitos) and that it is once again becoming very bad in certain areas due to El nino, global warming..etc.
I along with another SI member here spoke to her after the conference. First off, her company sells direct. The reason why ADGI is involved and in the ballgame is because in most of these countries like Brazil, YUO need to know people and how to "make the sale". ADGI through emerging trends has these contacts. Obviously in Mali and in other areas. THe Brazil contract is huge, is a 4 year contract. THere are other bidders, but ADGI kit is the only one that has passed registration, a huge advantage it would seem. She could have supplied the kit to another company but chose ADGI and its contacts. She thinks it will be approx. 45 days till that is done.
On the same topic, the salesman for Emerging trends walk in and he verified much of the same and said worse case scenario 60 days. He said it is very hard to predict time on these things. sound like there a alot of hoops to jump through.
Joseph Orriols-Rockwell communications. This is the call back service company. The guy was too long and boring. Very technical and in depth info about his company. However, after the meeting, we also spoke to him and had the emerging trends rep in Mali demonstrate the call back service. The call came back in about 5 seconds, pretty quick!! THey did however have some problems with the service and the monopolistic phone company down there. The new equipment takes care of that problem and they have over 100 customers lined up. I dont believe we will see any substantial revenues from the call back till qtr. 2 or 3. JMO

This was the company on the press release today. Internet telephone,
along with digital on hold media systems. go to the web site and read what they do. all this can be tied in to the call back services i suppose.
DR. hinton: I spoke with him before and after the meeting. There is a great deal of frustration on his part because of all the rumors etc. But, he said despite some past mistakes, the company is on a good course and feels by the end of this year things will be very good.
Now, my personal take on the conference: If i went to this conference and listened to the speakers and left, I would have not gotten much out of it. Hinton made sure all of the companies were there to talk to everyone who wanted to talk. We stayed, and were glad we did. If you went and left without talking to these people, you might have a diferent spin on the meeting. The hotel was very nice, food and drink was good, so i give them an A for effort. There were also brochures and a 1998 Inforamtion sheet from ADGI. I will try to scan it on here tomorrow.
Hinton is surrounding himself with some good people, but i can tell you that the areas they are dealing with and the people they deal with is why things take a while to "finish". If your patient this is a pretty good deal at .06...if you need to make a quick few bucks hopefully you probably already did that today. Hope this helps.
