I've publically stated mostly the grounds for Christine's original public question: What does the Bible state about homosexuality?
My first post on this subject was purely to answer Christine's question. She brought up the subject! But very quickly those religious views were attacked, which is insane, (unless that was the plan) because Christine specifically requested Religious viewpoints, particularly and specifically from Christians.
I don't have to state my personal proclivities. I may be gay, or I may be straight. I have only attempted to state the reasons for my religious beliefs. But yes, personally I find homosexual acts, incestuous acts, child molestation, murder, and all other manner of gross sin to be disgusting, unnatural, and abhorrent. But I benefit nothing by harboring personal animosity towards such offenders.
There was a man in our community named Wesley Alan Dodd who was convicted of raping and killing two little boys aged about 8 and 9 years old. He picked them up in a public park not many miles from here. His acts were despicable and hateful in the extreme, and I was relieved when the State of Washington hung him by the neck until dead. Yes his acts offended me, but I read in a public letter that he wrote from his jail cell that each and every morning he was physically ill from the events of his crimes replaying in his mind---he was tortured. When I read that I couldn't hate him, though since I had never seen him ever, I found it difficult to conjur up a lot of hatred anyway, but was glad he was in Jail.
Homosexuals have nothing to do with me, and how can I hate someone I don't even know? I don't currently know any homosexuals. But I do find the thought of a homosexual act to be depraved, and I do feel I should have the right to fire someone if I employed them, and then they told me they were doing something which I personally found to depraved, unnatural, etc. |
