Hiram, what this article points to is true, there is a bright side yet there is a dark side. There are stages of temporary freedom the individual experiences in the evolution of the Networked Economy. While decentralization at first distributes power and knowledge letting the individual have more autonomy, the center eventually takes it back as it extends control through a more pervasive network of information gathering that crosses traditional boundaries of rights and privacy.
