Hello all, I've just registered, finally, to techstocks after months of reading these pages. I am an electronics engineer specializing in digital design. In my opinion Atmel is on the verge of explosive growth. I attended a seminar Wednesday where FPGA (field programmable logic array) technology was presented by several manufacturers of FPGAs. Atmel was clearly on the cutting edge. The presentation also included a touch on Atmel's product line. Atmel's focus on low power, low voltage devices make it a dominant player in portable hardware. Their introduction of flash, in circuit configurable, industry standard 8051 microcontrollers is a designers dream come true. The icing on the cake is there introduction of a very high speed CMOS industry standard logic family. I bought into Atmel several months ago at $30 and have stengthened my position today considerably. In my opinion the stock has been unjustly left behind in the recent tech run. With earnings projected at $2.40 for '97, the stock should be trading around $40. This stock has great potential.
