I noted a similar effect in Sun Microsystems stock today, which closed precisely at 60 where most of the options activity appeared to be. I posted details here on SI under the Sun topic earlier today (shortly before the close). Does anybody have an explanation for this effect? I believe it also happened last quarter, although that's just a gut feel at this point, since I didn't write down any of the supporting evidence to refer back to.

I suspect there's an arbitrage-related reason, but I'd like to understand it.
