Joan and Vartan, it looks like you have an interesting find
with Winstar. I can see how we could use the technology ourselves
to get higher bandwidth for our internet connection.

Some additional tid-bits:

On 9/7/95, Nathan Kantor was named president and COO of Winstar.
His resume includes President of MCI International. Most recently,
he was president of a consulting firm that specializes in the
development of emerging telecommunications firms.

About 4-5 years ago when the cellular market became hot, a company
called Fleet Call owned rights to a large portion of the frequency
spectrum that was traditionally used for cab dispatchers. When it
became apparent that the frequency range could be used for short-distance
cellular phones, the stock price rocketted to a market cap of over $1
billion (from a few hundred million) in a short period of time, primarily
based on the value of it's licenses.

Similarly, the 38-GHz frequency can only be used over short distances
(less than 5 miles), and must have a clear site; in many metropolitan
area, this poses no problem. The exclusive rights to this range of
the spectrum could be extremely valuable.

The exploding demand for commercial connections to the internet and
other electronic avenues (such as video conferencing) won't subside
any time soon.

I haven't seen the financials yet, so I can't comment on the market
valuation,

We will add WCII to Silicon Investor with a batch of other new
additions, hopefully by the end of the month.
