IOM is going to spend a bundle on ads, but one thing you have to be
aware of is how big and fast Sony can make a tornado scene of a
market. Microsoft has completely messed up NOVL and NOVL was THE
player there. Sony will come in a market, sit with every single sales
person from Computer City, Best Buy, CompUSA, and any other store that
sells computers and feed them an incredible lunch, and brainwash them.
The sales people leave the show feeling like bigshots and that some
company (Sony) thought enough of them to spend all that money. If you
don't already have an Iomega drive, you probably are not too familiar
with Iomega. You walk into the store scared about buying something
you don't know anything about and you see Iomega, Syquest, and Sony.
$100 million on ads, you say, will keep Iomega at the top. Sony
spends that every month on their name. Pray for a buyout....
