hey guys. Look at this.. Notice that AMD is NOT There. Maybe it would have to do with the profits [lack thereof] of AMD, their abysmal ROE and all other things that make you buy a stock on it's financial fundamentals, likle ROE, Book to sales, Profit MARGINS etc.

Here are Bloomberg's picks , the 30 stocks that passed the test.

Award Software

Veritas Software

Bio-Technology General

Amgen

OrcCAD

MicroSoft

Phoenix Intl

Peerless Systems

Remedy

VideoServer

Visio

Etec Systems

Ultratech Stepper

BMC Software

JDA Softwrare Group

Wind River Systems

Performance Technologies

Novellus Systems

Cabletron Systems

Coherent Comm Systems

The Vantive Corporation

Davox

Cisco Systems

Applied Magnetics

Atmel

Altera

PairGain Technologies

Storage Computer

Intel

Citrix Systems

Electronics for Imaging

Glenayre Technologies

Ascend Communications

Sterling Commerce

EMC

These are the 30, based on fundamentals, and finance, growth, and
the other things like price to book, sales, profit margins, return on
equity, inventory turnover, r&d to sales etc

that Bloomberg Personal thinks are the best bets...

Another small bunch of big names did not quite make the grade, I
think mostly because of slighly lower, or more inconsistent returns

Here are the Honorable mentions:

1- Genentech
2- BioGen
3- Chiron
4- Netscape Comms
5- Pharmacia & Upjohn
6- Oracle
7- Sun MicroSystems
8- Motorola
9- Bristol-Meyer Squibb
10-Apple Computer
11-IBM
12-ComPaq &
13- Dell

Let me know what you guys think. This is the personal magazine of a
leader in the industry, well-respected like Mr Bloomberg.

Anyway, for what it's worth

Take care
Jean
