Alan, I just don't think thin clients are going to make it in a general office setting. They will have their uses replacing the HUGE installed base of dumb terminals, however.

It is NOT appropriate to run Excel, Word, etc. as remote applications. Wonder why Roger Babb is so sour on Citrix? He tried that. Well, heck, if I'd been led to believe that that made sense and then tried it, I'd be sour on Citrix too. ;)

Hard disks are cheap. Microsoft is working-out remote administration. Excel and Word and going to continue to live on your workstation.
