I agree with your point that they are doing the work because they are being well paid, but I still feel that they are only sticking to it for this much time with Naxos, bearing in mind the industry opinion of Naxos to this date anyway, because of a sense that Naxos will come out with the goods. And don't forget, Ledoux very much would want to defend the highly suspect attack from the ASE not all that long ago challenging their ability to properly test the FL ore. (which is were much of Naxos problems came to a head with the ASE anyway)

Once attacked, you quickly analyze your position, your strength and likelyhood for successful counterattack or defense. If you determine you cannot win, you surrender and minimize loss. If you determine that your strengths outway your opponents and you have confidence in your ability to bring those strengths to bear, you fight on. Ledoux is fighting on.
