Titanic should cruise by Star Wars this weekend for the highest (domestic) gross and become number 1 all time. Depending on how many awards it receives next week, Titanic could possibly approach 1.5 Billion world wide before it goes to video sales and then to rental .

Once it does make it to rental, Blockbuster should enjoy a good summer and fall. Last I read, analysts were predicting 300M in video tape sales. Do not remember if they projected what video rentals would provide for the two studios.

$2B in gross revenues is a possibility for the two studios to split up when it is all said and done. That would give Paramount (VIA) almost 3/4B profit. Plus the traffic and sales for Blockbuster.

Some have said that too much emphasis is placed on this one time event (Titanic) but this one time event will give VIA a lot of cash to play with.
