I'm feeling a little less despondent, now grw, thanks. I was beginning to sound a little like Jane there. : - ).
To understand why I'm getting so ticked, you have to realize the run of bad luck and bad decisions I've been through over the last 2 months.
I started out with a solid position in FIBR, a portfolio worth about 5 grand. I know that's small potatoes to most people, but to me it's the last hope I have of escaping the rat race.
I got shook up by an announcement that Lucent or ATT or somebody was coming out with a competing product. I was afraid they would wipe out FIBR's market share. So I sold out, figuring to beat the rush.
Instead, FIBR went up over a dollar, at least for awhile.
Next I went through a slew of companies. Some I made a little on, but most I either broke even or lost on. I had 10,000 shares of UNFC at one point, and sold out just before they announced a reverse split. I bought at like .08 and sold at around .18. Thought I'd really pulled off a major coup.
So after they had their reverse split, guess what? They became REMH and their share price went to 2.25. Thats TWO DOLLARS AND TWENTY FIVE CENTS !!!! I about sh**t myself. I coudln't believe it.
Then I heard about a hot new stock that was gonna explode. har har har. TVSI. I could have bought it at .08, but I decided to wait over the weekend. I placed a market order before the open the following monday, figuring to hit .08 at the open. NOT !! The #$@#@#$ MM's raised the ask to .22 before the open, sold me my 10000 shares at .22, then promptly dropped the bid back down to .08 in about half an hour. By the time I logged on to check on my order, it was all over with. It was a classic pump n' dump.
So I decided to get smart. I'd start scanning for companies that were showing big volume on no news. Get ahead of the game. I found DYGN that way. Bought 10,000 shares of that. That's when I learned about flipping. At least I was able to get back out of it with most of my remaining capital.
I found WAST the same way. I could have picked it up at .64. But no, I figured that no garbage hauling company would ever do much. I skipped it. Less than a week later they were at 2.25.
Then I got desperate. I had to recover my capital. It was do or die. I sold everything I had, including my JAXI shares that I'd been holding forever in the faint hope that it might go somewhere. I put it all into ADGI. ADGI was gonna do it for me. I thought about selling yesterday morning at .08+. But no, I knew it was gonna go higher after the news about the conference came out.
GGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!
<sob>
Yes. I am learning from all this. Please don't pity me. I will overcome. |
