Joe. I'm pleased to report that the funeral I was out of town to attend these past few days was not my own!! Also, no problems with the oil cops (not yet anyway). I still need to catch up on recent events and I do plan a field trip this p.m. But I do find one initial report to be very encouraging and interesting. That tidbit is that Esso is not doing a 4 pt. flow test on the well. WHY NOT, WE MUST ASK OURSELVES ???
Well, you do not do a 4 point test when:
1) Well productivity is low (say <2 MMCF/D for a well like this), or 2) You have a gas well with something you must hide from scouts, or 3) YOU ARE TESTING AN OIL WELL!!
From my personal observations, we can eliminate the low productivity argument. They showed me way too much last week for me to fall for that BS. Gentlemen, THIS WELL CAN HONK (if only they'd let it toot!!)
Therefore, either:
(a) they are making a lot of condensate that they want to try to hide from the scouts (Quite possible from what I've previously seem and smelled out there.), or
(b) they have an oil well and the current flare is simply solution gas. (Since there is a reported "whispy black plume of smoke, 100 to 150 feet long above a rich orange colored smokey flare that is about 4 meters tall" perhaps earlier rumors about 110 feet of oil pay in the well were true!!!)
I can't yet tell you if a) or b) is the reason Esso has opted out of the 4 point test. When they terminate the test a "reasoned guess" might however be possible.
Soon we will be hearing "stories" of disappointing test results. That is the next logical step by someone wanting to hold down land bids come April 1, 1998, isn't it?
WELL, DON'T BUY THAT CRAP!! THIS WELL'S A REAL WINNER!! I DON'T CARE WHAT IT IS - MAYBE JUST A CONDENSATE RICH NATURAL GAS WELL CAPABLE OF LONG TERM SUSTAINED PRODUCTION AT, I'M GUESSING, 7 to 10 MMCF/D (WITH +/- 700 TO 1,000 BBLS/D CONDENSATE), OR, - MAYBE JUST A PROLIFIC OIL WELL WITH A LOT OF SOLUTION GAS THAT WILL BE CONSERVED AND SOLD.
EITHER ONE RINGS THE CASH REGISTER QUITE NICELY, GENTLEMEN!! |
