Mike, server loading (not LAN loading) is the problem with apps like Excel on Winframe. Even a top of the line Pentium Pro server can be brought to its knees by a couple of "power users" with big spread sheet recalcs or data base queries. And then the secretary trying to type in Word screams and throws things when the power users cause key and mouse lag in her app. I have been there.........

Winframe shines in dumb terminal replacements running custom apps that are all alike and not very cpu intensive. It does not "multiply" processor power. It takes the full attention of a 200mhz machine to run today's office apps and people cost much more than computers so it makes no sense to cripple their productivity. Office apps will remain on the desktop, remotely executed apps will be used only with centralized apps like airline reservations.

Will Winframe (or HYDRA) see general office use? No. Special applications? Yes. Are there enough special apps to produce the revenue necessary to support the current CTXS stock price? An open question........
