The specialist has two accounts one is an investment account and the other is a trading account. What goes on with these accounts only the specialist and their minions know, not even the SEC has full knowledge of these accounts. Specialist can tick the price up because as they do the rising prices creates demand and that is the alibi for their actions and the SEC and public are none the wiser. The speciaist NEVER loses money, period. Well, sorry that you given up, but next time you see a stock move in some "weird" way or see a stock move on "rumors" at the high and see in consequently drop with high volume only to rebound quickly, think about that and remember that some things can be better explained if it is controled.
