Bulldozer, according to the 1997 NETA annual report, gross margins were 74% of revenues. This is not a characteristic of what I would call a commodity business! Certainly we are seeing a maturing of the business, but that's to be expected. The thing that I've begun to appreciate is the fact that NETA is attempting to create an end-to-end security solution aimed primarily at the Windows NT based networks. The other thing that I've noticed is that many of the acquired companies have top executives that were in the US government security and espionage business. So, I think they're trying to leverage those connections.

One of the things you need to grasp is just how fragmented the providers in this market are. If NETA can pull together just the right pieces to this jigsaw puzzle I think it could just step up to the really big leagues. I frankly don't know enough about the technical end of this market to tell you what those pieces may be, but Larson's acquisition targets are certainly there for anyone to see.

Yeah, Larson doesn't suffer from an over-abundance of humility. His hubris certainly wears thin after awhile. I think I've just learned to tune him out a lot of the time.

Thanks for your observations.

Regards,

Paul
