To continue getgo's observation:

Anyone want to comment on the lack of a collapse in NSM's stock price today? Seems to me that if the stock did not go lower on this and the other similarly nasty surprises from CPQ, INTC etc have not destroyed the market then there is hope for those of us sorry souls still in semiconductor stocks?

I recall MU announcement last quarter - the stock did not collapse and that marked a fairly steady increase from the 22 area to the 38 area before it faltered.

If people aren't killing the semis in spite of all this bad news doesn't that suggest the few sorry souls in the stocks right now are not in the mood to sell at these prices. Does that not suggest we are at a bottom.

I'm not suggesting anything just throwing this out. (I've said the semis are a good buy, esp. the non-commodity semis and in the face of strong opposition, I think I'll still stand by this.) Heck if NSM which is half and half commodity and specialized does not go down on what looked like atrocious news there can't be any sellers left in the stock can there?

I'm still somewhat concerned about the earnings season. But hey how can reality be much worse than the news that has come out so far from the likes of CPQ, NSM, CY and others.

So once again I'll say that LSI is, if not a buy, at least a hold at these levels n/t. Longer term and even intermediate term (6-12 months out) it is to me unquestionably a very strong buy.

Any way a good weekend to everyone.

Shane.
