To avoid the IRS hassle, I believe the simplest way is to be come an Independent Rep (stockbroker) or Financial Advisor. All subscriptions, equipment,software programs etc. etc are deductible on Schedule C due to needs of advising your clients.

Naturally the short term profits will be considered ordinary income.
