I can't see how because the old shares have NO official value. But then, you could also say that something is worth what someone will pay for it. Thus, if you can get a bid, you can apparently sell them. I can't believe it myself, but I sold mine after the announcement that the shares were worthless. I called my broker to see if there was a quote and much to my surprise there was...so *poof* I sold them. Maybe you could do the same.

I'm a little embarrassed to say that selling them after I knew they were worthless made me feel a smidge better in a very perverse way.
I lost a ton of money on ZONE, but at least I didn't buy them when they were worthless. My mistake was listening to my ML broker saying that everything was fine all the way down. Needless to say I'm not with ML anymore.
