New Media has similarities to HYBR. HLIT has many advantages,they can engineer what to me is the ultimate future system,LMDS connected to fiber optic tales. HYBR doesn't have any optics background. I did notice they had a few cable installations,and a few listed for the future. I wonder which one was cancelled.
HLIT has the resources,and the background to form allegiances with Panasonic,Daewoo,and Thompson. Thompson, I here through the grapevines,is coming out with a device,similar to WebTV for fiber optic cable,that can do many things,including telephony,its the future of RCA at stake here.
HYBR is not a global player,with contracts around the world, and has not shown they can make money,or manage themselves well.
In fact I doubt that HLIT thinks HYBR is worth acquiring.
