Wolf..Sorry I was out of pocket a few days...I try not to ignore an inquiry..especially here on "The Pleasant Thread"..
My thoughts are that Motorola is off in an area with problems of its own to solve.. They are more getting hit with problems keeping up with the like of QCOM, IMHO, than LSI...though there could be some contribution to their problem from that source as well.
I've gone somewhat away from all the chip manufacturers (with the exception of VTSS), expecting MOT, TXN, MU, LSI, VLSI, and INTC all to be a bit behind the power curve for a quarter or so... To a lesser degree, I've become a bit leary of the semi-equipment companies, much as I like them.. Instead I'm focusing on the photomask (DPMI especially) and test equipment (VECO, LTXX, TER) companies.. so far to good effect.
More discussion later, as we get caught up...meanwhile, what are your thoughts about prospects in the semi sectors? TSO
