Although the articles I attached are two years old I think it illustrates the hostility that China feels towards Taiwan. China will never recognize Taiwan and will one day repatriate it.

Although your not worried about Taiwan's autonomy with their "F16's and Mirage fighters that can annihilate China", they're kind of worried. As for the U.S. Pacific fleet sailing down the Taiwanese Strait to rescue Taiwan, fat chance. The US sideshow with Iraq, the UN and the Albright prep rallies illustrates the weakness of our military and commitment of the US to be the worlds policeman.
