I think the reason Freud referred to loony folks as being "bats" had to do with an unfortunate incident where the Father of Psychology shorted Wienerschnitzel futures based on a Vienna stockmeister's over-reliance on the the flight patterns of Austrian bats (Oesterreicher Fledermausen). Let us--with our modern computerized stock picking techniques--not fall into these ancient errors.
